He couldn't help, but smirk a little bit at her blush. "Sorry, that probably sounded pretty forward... You're pretty, but I'm not trying to be a creep, I promise." He reached for his camera to explain. "I just notice these things because I do a lot of portraits..." he paused for a moment. "And now I probably just sound pretentious."

She shrugged a bit, putting her head on his shoulder. "I don't care... If it is, and I'm ticketed, I'll let Cole pay for it." She was the most comfort she'd felt in a very long time.

She slid into the car and shut the door behind herself, avoiding the question as much as possible. When there was nothing more she could do to distract herself, Laine finally spoke. "I'm fine I just... was being followed. I couldn't get ahold of Qayin... I think he has a client"

She chuckled a little. "No, you don't." She assured him. "Being a photographer is something interesting, not a lot of people find it to be so."

He frowned at the mention of Cole's name. "If he doesn't, I will."

"People seem to think it's an interesting enough hobby, but not a valid career" he sighed. "Thankfully, I've not been known to be the most astute listener." Grayson smiled "I'm Grayson by the way."

Kelti looked at him and shook her head. "No, I'm not going to let you do that... But the car's under his name, so he should be the one who's ticketed"

"Did you get a good look at the guy? I could bring you down to the station... Just for a report. Just- if there's some guy preying on people walking alone... It just seems like a good idea." He looked at Laine. "And, I promise they won't ask or do anything about your... Occupation... If that is still your occupation."

Renee smiled back. "I'm Renee." She got up from her seat, and made her way to his table, her hand stretched out. "Nice to meet you."

"Well..fine." He frowned again, and reached for her hand.

Laine simply shook her head. She hadn't gotten a good look at the man, and she didn't really want to file a report when nothing had happened. What if she'd just overreacted? What if he hadn't even been following her? He'd been gone when they'd left the cafe. Maybe she'd imagined the whole thing--as she had a tendency to do when she was afraid. "I just... I just want to go home." She sniffed and started rooting around inside her purse for her phone. When she checked her messages, she was hit with yet another disappointment: Qayin had still not called her back. He was most assuredly 'entertaining'. "... But I don't think I can right now..."

Grayson shook her hand with a smile. "The pleasure's all mine"

Gil sighed, unsure what he should do. Finally, he looked over at Laine. "You can wait it out at my house... If you'd like." He hoped that didn't sound creepy or forward. That was not his intention at all. What else could he say? He wasn't about to send her back out when she was being stalked.

"Are you sure? I mean..." She cleared her throat, tucking her phone back into her purse and replying in a tone that was hardly more than a whisper. "What if someone found out... My reputation... You've made an issue of it in the past."

"If anyone asks questions, I'll tell them the truth.... Besides, I'm not going to send you back out on the street now"

"If I wouldn't be a bother then... Alright. But I'll be fine if it isn't... I've been through this before."
