Future RP Part Two: Something Bad

Sally managed to get one of his more experienced employees to tend the counter, and returned with some coffee for Teagan. "Maybe you should just... Think it over for a while? If your friend and your fiancée did this, then they are not people you want in your life. Weisis would not ever do that to me, nor I to her. We respect each other, and that is a big part of... Love. And... This does not seem the case for you."

"Yeah, that could work." Leo nodded as he sat down and flipped open his folder. He was considerably less enthusiastic than he had been when he was planning his own schedule. Seeing Theo again had really thrown him for a loop. "And, then we should do a quick study of the butterfly life cycle in the beginning of the week. The trip can be a treat on Friday, maybe."

Damaris nodded, and after looked at Leo with a frown. "..I'm sorry. I didn't..think he'd still be here..."

Leo glanced towards the living room again, then lowered his voice. "No, I'm sorry... I overreacted a bit. I just-I jumped to conclusions..." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Is he okay, though? He looks awful..."

"He's hit a rough patch, sweetie. He's just...so sad and in pain."

"Well, what's wrong? You know I don't really like to see him like this. I don't like seeing anyone like this. Is he gonna be okay when he decides to leave?"

"I don't even know..."

He bit his lip, "Well, should I do something? Would it help? Or will he take it as..." God, he didn't even know.

"I just... I can't help thinking I did something to cause this. I don't know, I keep going over what I might have done to upset her- Theo, Theo's just like this. But, I never thought he'd ever go this far." he sighed, not even noticing he'd dropped Theo's name.

Weisis frowned "Teagan, I've been telling you since high school to stop putting up with his foolishness! And of course it was him... I don't know why we didn't guess that right away"

Theo sat in the living room, seriously considering just walking out the door while the two were distracted. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Leo more than he already had. Despite everything that he'd done, he still really cared about him.

"Theo is slime. I've said that since the beginning. He cheated on my brother and broke his heart. I'm not surprised that he'd do something like this... And your fiancee-Phoebe-I do not advise you to go back to her either."

"I know him better than most people... At least I thought that I did. Phoebe's been trying to call me for the past two days, but I've ignored them. Maybe I should at least hear her out..."

"No, stop defending him and she doesn't deserve to be heard out. I'm sorry Teagan..." How could she put this gently "Phoebe's not a stable person, she'll probably go and do it again!"

"I'm not defending him, I'm just saying he's been in a tough spot-"

"That's defending him!"

"I'm not trying to and Phoebe is not unstable!"

Damaris oppened her mouth, and looked out over to Theo. "..I don't know..." She frowned. "But...if that were Bryce out in my living room, looking broken, and sad, I wouldn't not want to talk to him..."

"Stable or not, she did sleep with someone else... in your bed, to top it off. I doubt Theo overpowered and had his way with her."

"Are you sure you'd feel that way if Bryce had decided to run off and screw some random guy?"

Damaris stayed silent for a moment. That hit her pretty hard. "...I...don't know.."

"And that's what I've been dealing with since we broke up... I feel bad for him, and I want to help because I love-or used to love-him. I just don't know what I could or should do." Again, he glanced out towards the living room. "At least, not without him getting the wrong idea..."

She squeezed his arm gently. "Amor, you should talk to him..."

"Maybe... I still wouldn't know what to say."

"Ask him hoe he feels, yeah? He needs more friends than just me."

"I can try? I don't know... But I can try." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair... which would've worked out better if curls didn't get tangled so easily. When he finished yanking his hand out of his hair, he cleared his throat. "... So... Um... Lesson plans."

She smiled, and reached out to stroke his hair. "Lesson plan."

"Do you wanna look over my plans, and I'll look over yours, or...?

"Sure." She turned her computer around, and slid it over to him. "Just look it over, and tell me if you think there's anything to be changed."

"He's done a lot of horrible things, but he wouldn't do that..." he ran a hand through his hair again. "I-everything was fine a few days ago. Now I don't know what to do" the concept of not having a plan and not knowing what would come next terrified Teagan.

"Sit down and try to clear your head? You can stay here for as long as you need. I won't shoo you out." Not this time, at least.

He nodded, and started going over her plans. They seemed to coincide with his own fairly well, so he didn't have much to say on the subject.

"...Hey, have you eaten already? I was just about to get dinner started..?"

"Oh no, I haven't. I was gonna see if you were home and then the two of us could get something to eat while we went over plans. But, if you wanna make something, I'll give you a hand"
