Full Name: Madeline Raleigh Brooks

Meaning of their full name: 'Madeline' is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Madeline is "woman from Magdala". 'Raleigh' is of Old English origin, and the meaning of Raleigh is "roe deer's meadow". 'Brooks' is her family's given name (on her father's side).

Why did their parents name them this?: Manda's father was not present for her birth, but he and his then-wife agreed on Madeline Raleigh for a multitude of reasons. Raleigh after Sir Walter Raleigh, as they agreed the name was sophisticated and had a decent enough history, and 'Madeline' after a cartoon/literary character that was a major part of Mrs. Brooks' childhood.

Why did you, their creator name them this?: Her proper name was decided after her nickname, Manda. She was named 'Manda' after a friend (Miranda), upon whom her original design was based.

Do they enjoy these/this nickname(s)?: Yes, she adores her nickname. She thinks it sounds like a good, catchy name that will roll right off the tongue when/if she ever becomes famous

History behind nickname(s): Not particularly fond of the name 'Madeline' (it didn't roll off the tongue), and hoping for something a little easier to pronounce, she started toying around with shortened versions of her name when she was very young. When she was about twelve, a friend called her 'Mandy', and she liked that well enough, but it wasn't quite right yet. Finally, discovering her future idol, Greta Garbo, she decided that the thing her nickname needed was an 'a'. Thus, Mandy became Manda.

How old they appear: in her teens, she generally would make herself up to look a bit older ('milfy', as she put it), but past twenty-five she tried to look progressively younger and succeeded... for the most part

Mental age: It's hard to say. On one hand, she's been exposed to many of the hard truths of life since an early age. On the other hand, she has very little concept of the 'real world'. She lives in a world rules by smoke and mirrors where a good actor will always win, and when she leaves that world she finds herself confused and frustrated-maybe even a bit scared.
Orientation/Sexual preference: She is sexually attracted to both men and women-and women who identify as men-but not men who identify as women. But, she is only romantically attracted to women who identify as women, and can only really connect on a romantic level with them.

Any history behind their sexual orientation?: She was exposed to sex at a fairly young age (fourteen, to be exact), and she liked it. A lot. From there, she also learned that sex and sexual appeal could be used to control and manipulate in a way that she doesn't see as negative in any way. After all, how terrible can manipulation be if you get really great sex out of it? Yet, as she had it more and more, she got bored over time and started to experiment... and learned that she liked a lot of different things. She's a fairly open-minded person in that respect.

Why this sexual choice?: Because she would get bored if she limited herself, and she is sexually attracted to most people

Do they believe it's right?: She's never really thought much about it. It's just something she does... And when she did think about it, she was reassured by another person (see 'history') that what she was doing was best for her future and her goals.

Are they opposed for their sexual choice?: By some-an old girlfriend of Manda's was particularly disgusted by it-although Manda rarely listens to them. Rarely.

Is this eye color uncommon?: I think so. I rarely see people with very deep blue eyes

Are their eyes good?: Yes, she has very good eyesight

General facial structure(high cheekbones, narrow eyes, etc.): Manda has high cheekbones, and a very dramatic 'Y' in her facial structure (brows to the nose), although the Y isn't noticable under most light. her profile is fairly 'flat', aside from her comparatively prominent nose

Describe their eyes: Half-moon shaped with a very subtle tilt up at the outer corners. Her eyes aren't particularly large compared to her face, but they do attract a decent amount of attention due to the color

Describe their nose: Her nose is straight, and compared to the rest of her profile, very prominent

Describe their lips: Her lips are very full with a well-defined cupid's bow and a very noticeable natural pout. She also has a very wide mouth, although most of the mass is centered so it's hard to notice unless she smiles

Wrinkles?: Not at the moment. She takes great care to keep her body healthy and beautiful.

Describe them: Long, but not naturally curled properly. Her lashes are actually quite straight, so it takes a little extra work in the morning to curl them so they frame her eyes properly

Describe them: Well-groomed and penciled in daily

Hair color(s): Naturally, her hair is black. She adds blue highlights, however, to further compliment her wardrobe (which is mostly blue) and eyes

Why?: Because she thinks a bob looks good on her. It's sleek, sophisticated, and reminds her of the many classic actresses she looks up to

How thick?: Not very. It was thick once upon a time, but that was hard to maintain/style, and didn't go with her general style. So the layers made it much thinner and easier for her to deal with.

Reasons behind tattoos: Manda and her friend, Helen, decided to get tattoos together when they turned seventeen. Helen's, however, is in a more... intimate location. They get them touched up whenever needed, and their tattoos match

Additional body mods(scarification, sub-dermal implants, etc.): Nope, although she's on the fence about rhinoplasty

Are their nails taken care of (Decently)?: she gets manicures constantly, so they better be! Her friend, Drusilla, is also a cosmetologist, so her nails are taken care of even when she can't afford to have them taken care of.

If not, why?: On the off chance her nails aren't taken care of, she broke a nail and hasn't yet gotten it fixed.

Describe their smile: wide and incredibly sexy in a somewhat unnerving way. There's always a certain snake-like quality to her smile

What kind of teeth do they have?: straight and bright white, although she has a bit of an overbite

Why/why not?: Because everyone knows you can't be a successful actress if your teeth are all janky... at least, not easily. And even if she's very talented, Manda is taking no chances

Describe their voice(What range is it for one thing? Alto, tenor, bass, etc.?): She has a fairly deep voice naturally ('sexy' deep, not masculine. Her voice is feminine. Manda is feminine in general), but she has an incredible range that she's worked at for years.

Speech mannerisms(Do they pause a lot, a stutter?: when she talks, there's a certain musical quality to her voice that can get irritating after a while
Describe an outfit they would wear: Something tight, good for hot weather, and easy to get in and out of. No loud colors-she prefers dark and dramatic-and usually in blue/black/grey

Why do they have this clothing preference?: Because it compliments her eyes, which she believes to be her most alluring feature, and because she likes blue. She also spends the majority of her time at the beach, so easy-to-change-out-of clothing is good for a multitude of reasons


Mental state: she's fairly healthy, although her aforementioned 'world of smoke and mirrors' does affect her when she is disowned by her father and she has to live without all the money in the world. She also has an unhealthy fondness for her father, causing her to unconsciously seek out sexual partners that remind her of him. She spends her entire life trying to please her father, and subconsciously seeks out these partners hoping he will approve of them. She also does have a sexual attraction to her father, although this is never acted on or realized by Manda or her father
Emotional stability: Emotionally, she's closed off in some ways. She has good control over her emotions, as a method actor, and she generally keeps herself closed off. But, when she gets too close to someone, she obviously lets her guard down. She also can get too wrapped up in a 'role', and develop emotions despite claiming it's all an act

Why do they have such/lack emotional stability?: She's an actress, and her daddy taught her that all of life should be an act, so that's how she treats it. The world is her stage in every meaning of the phrase.

Why or why not?: Her father is the one who pushed her towards acting (thank god she actually enjoys it)
Personality snapshot: Charming, bubbly, and flirty.

In depth personality: Manda is a very outgoing and bubbly person. She's charming, she knows how to win over most people, and she's just very fun loving. She loves to party, too, having lived on the beach her entire life and being a bit of a 'beach bum'. In a competition, she will be focused, and when she sets her sights on something, she never gets distracted from her goals. Bear in mind that this only applies to HER goals-it's hard to convince her to help anyone with their own goals if they require too much work. She works for herself, and when she isn't working towards her own goals she likes doing fun, effortless things like shopping and hanging out at the beach. Dumb teen things like that.

Inwardly, however, she strives to meet her father's high (if unclear) standards. He's the only parental figure in her life, and he doesn't exactly make it easy for Manda to bond with him. He's married and remarried time and time again, and spends the majority of his time traveling and working. Manda rarely sees him, and when she does see him, she spends her time fawning over him in the attempt to get some sort of approval. Growing up, she saw the other kids and kids in movies get this approval, so that only made her want it more. She craves affection, but recoils when it is given to her because she's not used to it at all and it makes her uncomfortable. When she's uncomfortable, she has difficulty guarding herself. when she has trouble guarding herself, she feels like she's failing somehow.

Manda is also a HUGE movie junkie. Growing up in the magical world she did, surrounded by actors and seeing how putting on a good show can save your life (literally, in some of her father's cases), she grew to appreciate actors and actresses who could really get into a role. In particular, she adores Greta Garbo and Judy Garland, who she considers to be the best actresses of their time.

Do they like their personality?: She does most of the time, but her overt sexuality scared away her first girlfriend, and Manda is sometimes very uncomfortable in relationships because of this

Outlook on life: The world is a disgusting place full of harsh people, and you have to play them all... But, that's real life. And she doesn't inhabit real life until after her wild teen/college days
Emotional trauma(if any, and why): Her first sexual experience was way before she should've been active, her father never showed her any love, and her first girlfriend (Roberta) dumped her because Manda didn't know how to be affectionate rather than sexual.

How do they respond when the trauma issue is talked about/touched on?: She is distant, and changes the subject as soon as she can

Why, or why not?: Because Manda truly loved Roberta, and now feels even more uncomfortable and closed-off in actual relationships after her relationship with Robbie ended so badly
