Future RP part III: Sunshine and Daisies~

Theo had awoken some time ago, but had yet to get up. He was content just staying where he was. He had the biggest grin on his face that he just couldn't seem to wipe off. He'd missed Leo so much and he's believed for the longest time that he'd never forgive him. But now, he was in his bed, so surely he had. He had began playing with Leo's hair, no longer minding whether or not he woke him up. Theo was getting impatient and was eager to speak to him.

Salvatore was climbing down the stairs, trying to put his hairnet back on. He'd been up and down those stairs all day checking on the pig. He and Weisis hadn't even named it before she left... And the thing was so needy! He'd keep it in the deli if he could, but that would be bad, bad, bad. And, it'd make people think twice about buying the pork. So, he went to go wash his hands again, and start cooking a few more sausages.

Leo was snoring softly, curled up against Theo. Subconsciously, he was incredibly comfortable in Theo's arms again. But, as he started to wake up, he felt less and less sure. Once he was awake, he didn't bother saying 'good morning'. He just shifted his position-hoping Theo would realize he was up-and awkwardly waited for Theo to say something. God, what had he been thinking last night?

Have you ever cried so hard for so long that there is an actual, phsyical pain in your chest? Like your ribs, and lungs and heart is begging for you to please stop because they can't take any more? Well, that's how Damaris felt. It was so early in the morning, and she already felt disgusted with herself, and worthless, and just..awful. She clutched on to her pillow tighter, burried her face deeper into the side of it, and cried as quietly as she could.

The officer (I dunno military ranks ;___; ) walked into the deli and looked about. This was the least favourite part of her job, but she knew it was important. She was only thankful she wasn't about to tell this man his fiance was dead. The chances still were not so good so far however. After asking someone who clearly resembled an employee, she headed towards the counter where they'd pointed her. "Salvatore Bellini?"

Theo unfortunately, didn't get the hint when Leo shifted away from him. Instead, he leaned over in an attempt to kiss his jaw and neck. "Good morning~"

Bryce awoke groggily at what he'd thought was the dog whining, but as he sat up, he instantly knew that was not the case. He looked at Damaris, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Mari? What's wrong?"

Damaris froze. She didn't expect Bryce to be up so early. "..Oh, Bryce, I...morning pains. They hurt. A lot."

Bryce frowned, unsure whether he should believe her. "Can I kiss it better?"

"I don't know..." Her voice was shaky, and groggy. "Do you want to kiss an ugly face full of snot, tears and spit bubbles?"

"If it helps make you feel better, I would." he put his arms around her and kissed the top of her head in an attempt to be comforting.

Damaris found a dry spot in her pillow, and rubbed her face against it, clearing all moister from her face before turning around and curling into Bryce's chest. She loved him. She loved him very much, and very happy he was back to her. "...Tell me everything will be okay..."

He held her close and stroked her hair. "It will be... Nothing bad's going to happen"

She sobbed again, and clung on tightly to Bryce, who by now she was sure knew this wasn't just "morning pains". "I hate everything so much..."

Salvatore looked up with a smile that instantly melted upon properly seeing what he had assumed was another customer. He looked away, to close up the counter for a moment and to compose himself, then took a deep breath and looked back to the officer. "Yes, I'm Salvatore Bellini. Has... something happened?"

Leo let him do that, but little more. He sat up and winced. God, he was always so sore after... that. "Good morning." He stood, then went to fetch his robe. Not to mention he'd have to clean up the room, get a shower, find something to eat... Did he work today? No, today was Saturday, thank god.

The woman cleared her throat, not wanting to directly answer that question in the middle of the Deli. "My name is officer McNeil... Is there somewhere more private we could sit? This isn't something I would like to discuss here"

Theo stretched lazily, but made no move to get out of the bed. He pouted "you're getting up already?"

"Why? What happened?" he frowned and continued to stroke her hair.

"I don't know, I just-I-" She couldn't even talk, she just breathed harshly, and hiccuped and cried, and let Bryce stroke her hair.

"I... I have a storeroom, if that will do"

(Tappy, I'm just gonna assume Theo is still staying with Laure xD And I'm gonna say Leo left John a while back. I'll change my reply if you already thought of something different c: )

"I should've been up a long time ago... And you should've, too. Don't you have to get going? Laure's going to worry..." He threw on his robe, then started picking up clothes off the floor.

"Wherever you'd like... I just think you ought to sit down before we talk"

"She don't gotta worry, I'm a grown man!... Besides, she's probably at work. What's 'da rush?"

"well, just try to calm down... Everything's fine"

="Oh god... He cleared his throat and stuffed his hairnet inside his apron. "My office. It's just over here."

"Nothing! I-I just..." Coming right out and saying this was a mistake would be INCREDIBLY bad, but he couldn't just go along with it either. "This is all... Kinda sudden."

She couldn't calm down, but she did stop crying after a while, and practically to exhaustion. Her eyes drooped, her breathing heavy; she hated that Bryce saw her like this.

"Then we should talk there." Officer McNeil followed him towards the office."

Bryce wasn't exactly good at comforting people, but he was really trying. He hated seeing Damaris so upset.

"'ow so? It 'as been years..."

"...I'm sorry. I thought..you'd still be asleep..."

Sally showed her to his office, and pulled out a chair for her, then he went to sit opposite her. He didn't say anything... he wasn't sure what to say.

"I know, and I've missed you, but..."

When he'd sat down, McNeil didn't see the point in stringing things out any longer. It would just upset the poor man more. "Mr. Bellini, there was an accident. Your fiance received a bullet wound to the abdomen."

"Don't apologize... I just- I don't know how to cheer you up"

his smile finally faded "but what...?"

"Is... Is she okay? Can I see her?"

"But..." He sighed, tossed the handful of clothes in the laundry basket, and went to sit at the end of the bed. "I just don't know if I can do this again... Especially right after John."

She shook her head. "Just...I don't know. Stay here with me...at least until I fall asleep again, then you can do whatever you normally do..."
