She wrinkled her nose for a minute "I'm actually extremely glad that's sarcasm because I hate champagne. I got sick off of it once... Never again." she sipped the beer and made a face. Beer was an acquired taste... One Candy was still acquiring, but she wasn't just about to stop trying.

Tom again was at a loss of words. He let the silence linger longer until clearing his throat. "...Okay." What now? He wondered whether or not he should make an excuse to leave...

"But at least I'll have the option to do something else, so long as I'm financially stable"

He opened his mouth to say something when Nabi oppened the car door and climbed in. "..Hiro, Nabi is hungry." She pouted.

Tom frowned for a moment and then looked back at Nabi. "Uhh... I don't know how much food people actually brought... It seems like it's mostly booze."

"Yeah I guess you're right. Must be nice." That wasn't supposed to come out douchey, and yet? He quickly tried to think of a way to back peddle, but couldn't think of something. So, he simply gave an apologetic grimace.

She sighed, "I used to think so, but... The thing about having money is that you spend all your life trying to keep it"

Her eyebrows raised at his reply. She smiled and shook her head. "Honestly, aren't you the interesting one? That's some conviction. Admirable, really."

Nick nearly choked at the smelling good comment. Honestly, this girl had no shame. He shrugged and headed into the water. "Fine then, but the water's great you big wuss!" He said with a smirk. "And I'll have you know I'm a great swimmer." Okay, THAT was a lie. Chevonne had taught him when he was fif-freaking-teen. How late was that to learn!?

"I still say that's better than not having money or resources and not having any way to gain money or resources." Byron shrugged.

Candy took another sip, putting in a good effort not to scrunch her face up this time "no, it's not bad... It's just not shirley temple good either." she smirked "Don't worry, it's not like I'm a terrible light weight." she raised a brow "...Unless you're one and trying to discourage drinking so that you don't get drank under the hypothetical table by some girl."

"Some people would said college is much more admirable. I would, I think"

"I'm not so sure... There are always ways. Good and honest work, for example. When you're rich, it's difficult to feel fulfilled with what you get in a good and honest way. Thankfully, my father is honest and I don't have to worry about keeping up with dishonesty"

She thought for a moment. "Some people could say that. -But when you think about it, most people are too afraid to try anything else, and that's why they stick to education if they can. Taking the risk of not going is more... interesting, if you ask me." she said with a shrug and yet another amused smile. She hoped she wasn't boring the poor man, but then again it was just casual conversation at a party. Why should she care?

He scoffed. "Please. You'll be falling over by the time I even get even a bit buzzed. You trying to challenge me?" He smirked. "You don't want to go there with me, Candy."

She stopped at the shore and glared. "I hope you drown, now."

She frowned. "..Nabi, Hiro and Tom can go to a restaurant around here, yes?"
"I'm not sure, Nabi.."

"Nabi... It's like two in the morning... Where are we going to go?" Tom groaned

"Wow, that sounded menacing..." she smirked "I'll bet you're a crier! Just one of those drunks that sobs about everything until they sober up. That would explain why you're trying to scare me off... Really Anthony, this is disappointing. You'll have to do better than that to scare me, I mean do you not hear the lengthy conversations Murphy and I have about disposing bodies?"

She thought for a while, thought of no where, and climbed into the backseat. "Right, right~ Nabi will just sleep it off then, she's still tired~..Unless...Hiro and Tom want Nabi to give them more alone time~?" She smirked.

May was silent for a long while, looking out into the crowd.

"...You don't think he's anywhere near the water... right?"

Victoria didn't even get far before her mind, which was slowly getting less clouded with anger, sensibly informed her she didn't technically have a ride home. She'd legitimately arrived thinking that she would just hitch a ride with whoever Candy was going, only Candy wasn't anywhere in this crowd, as far as she could tell.

It was late, and the way home was long, and why the hell had she even bothered to come? Her uncle was probably busy out of his mind by now, so it was no use calling him to pick her up. She could handle a walk, even at this hour, as long as she didn't get paranoid and start having dumb thoughts. It might even clear up her mind after her argument with that bloody annoying arse.

Folding her arms against her chest, she started walking in the direction of her house, mentally scolding herself for coming to the party. She should've figured it would turn out awfully.

"Interesting is not always best... although I do appreciate the interest of a beautiful lady such as yourself~"

"Well, we can at least agree that the best would be somewhere in the middle... Wait," she stopped, took Byron's hands, and turned to face him. Slowly, she looked up to meet his eyes, genuinely concerned. "You... You don't have enough money for college? I thought that was why you left..."

"Oh god... I hope he's not... I don't want to give mouth to mouth..."

"Bootcamp isn't exactly college... It was bootcamp." He really didn't want to speak about this. She'd realise he was trying to dodge around the topic.

"But I thought you were going to boot camp so you could afford college! Don't they... pay you for your service or something?" She sighed and turned her attention to their hands, hoping that he'd forgotten they were separated half as much as she was trying to. "Oh, darling... If you need money, then I'm sure I could talk to my father. We could find a job for you!"

"Well, Nabi knows that sometimes new couples like to be alone when they first get together!" she whined.
"Nabi." Hiro looked back and glared at her. "Stop."

"Yeah I have, and I've been wondering just who is more twisted for ages." He grinned, eyes narrowing a bit. "Oh that is IT. You want to go?" He crossed his arms and tilted his head back. "Aww just because that's how you are when you drink, doesn't mean everyone else is. Alright, Miss Hotshot. Give me a number, your limit. -But let's settle this, first one to get piss drunk loses. Name the stakes." Alright so maybe he was taking this a bit overboard... but he was far too competitive to see this at the moment.

"Wow, thanks!" he yelled as he went out deeper into the water. "Come on the water's fine." An idea suddenly struck him, he quickly wiped the smirk off his face. "Shit!!!!"

Silas had decided NOT to drink surprisingly. There was no reason him for him to stay at this pointless, mind-numbing stupid event. He didn't want to deal with a DUI, especially since his judgmental hypocrite of a father would have something to say. He made his way towards his car, grimacing at all of the drunk people around him. He shouldn't have even come, damn Chevonne. Instead of immediately getting in and driving away when he reached it, he leaned against his car, waiting to be completely sure he wasn't a bit buzzed, and thinking... far too much. He let out an exasperated exhale as he finally got in his car and started the engine, most of his anger having faded only to leave mild frustration. He ran a hand through his hair and drove out of the parking lot, he couldn't wait to get home and away from everyone.

"I can do............" she trailed off, cringing. No, Wally was like a brother. She definitely could not do it. "...Let's go check and hope for the best."

She started pushing through the crowd, looking for Wally.

Victoria was walking by herself, hands in pockets, still worked up after the argument she'd had with Silas. Looking back she could've just apologised, because she had been pretty irrational...

But it wasn't like the son of a gun hadn't been irrational himself.

And speaking of the devil... She suddenly noticed a car, and more specifically, the person sitting on the driver's seat. She was so tempted to flip him off as a final sign of defiance, but she decided she was far too mature for that.

She looked ahead and continued walking.

Her eyes widen when he heard him call out, and panic struck her. "Nick!!" She immediately dropped his shirt and went into the water.

Byron shook his head "I'm pretty sure your father hates me, if I remember correctly... And I don't want to ask for any favors. There was no logical reason for him not to, it just hurt his pride.

She raised a brow. "Wow... Someone's getting pretty defensive... I don't know if I want to cave and play your little games, Anthony~" she smirked. In truth, he'd probably out drink her... Plus she didn't exactly want to get completely wasted on a beach in the middle of no where. What if she were to get alcohol poisoning? It didn't seem worth it.

Nabi frowned. "...Does it matter if Hiro and Tom were drunk? They kissed, I thought that meant the two of them liked each other.."
"Nabi, that's enough."

"A job interview isn't really a favor... No one will pick you if they don't think you can handle the work. If you need the money, then I know the pay is decent."

"... Drunk people kiss all the time... It's not a big deal" Tom couldn't even look at either of them now.

"I have an interview on Wednesday actually... For a construction company" He didn't want Helen's help... She'd find out he was on parole if he let her help.
