Name: Jane Leah Occum

Nickname: Weisis

Reason for name: It’s her grandmother’s maiden name. As Weisis is close to her grandmother and spent a lot of time with her in her youth. To the Mi’Kmaq people, elders are extremely well respected and important; Weisis chose
something to honor her grandmother. She insists on being called this as she hates being called Jane.

Birthday: September 15th, 1996

Age: 17-25 (depending on the rp)

Gender: Female

Place of birth: Bear River First Nations (6A), Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia

Places lived since: Whatever city her family moves to, varies depending on RP

Parents’ names, backgrounds, occupations:

Hank Reid Occum: Hank is a tech aid and software developer. He worked freelance for years, but when money became tighter, he took a job as IT support for a local college. He was born and raised on the Bear River reserve.

Janet Theresa Occum: Janet is a dental hygienist. She’s had this occupation since she finished school. She worked at the same dental office for seven years until she was offered a job elsewhere. She accepted it and the family moved. Janet was born and raised on the Bear River Reserve as well.

Number of siblings:

Luca Alex Occum: Luca, or Luc is Weisis’ younger brother. There is eight years between them, but despite this, they're very close.

Relationship with family:

Weisis is very close to her family, this mostly consists of her mother, father, grandmother and brother. Her parents have no living siblings. Weisis has no first cousins.

Her relationship with her parents became rocky in her teens after her younger brother passed away.  She felt that they were trying to erase him by moving out of their hometown, selling his things, and not speaking about him. She began to act out and do things against her parents’ wishes.
Eventually, they made Weisis sit down and talk to them, and a counselor. The family was able to work things out, and it helped greatly with her pent up grief and anger. She was able to become close to her parents again.

Childhood trauma: Her biggest childhood trauma would likely be the diagnosis (he was diagnosed at age four, was cancer free until age seven) and general death of her younger brother, Luca. Her brother’s initial illness (leukaemia) caused her to grow up much more quickly than she would have. Because they didn’t live close to the nearest hospital, Weisis would usually have to stay behind while one or both of her parents took him to the hospital in the city.

Children of his/her own?: Not currently, but Salvatore and Weisis do plan on having children.

Age he/she gave birth/became a mother/ father: 25-ish?



Height:  Weisis is about 5’3.5 feet tall, but she will argue relentlessly that she is closer to 5’4.

Weight: 105 lbs

Build: she’s built like a stick, with longer arms and legs. Her torso is a rather boyish shape and she is small chested.

Nationality: Canadian (Nova Scotia), member of the Mi’kmaq nation.

Complexion (freckles, acne, skin tone, birth marks): Weisis has a fairly tanned complexion, and although she has fairly clear skin acne wise, she does have some freckles from sun exposure across her nose.

Face shape: her face is a long, thin heart shape.

Distinguishing facial features:  Weisis has large eyes, somewhat of a button nose, and high cheekbones.

Hair color: Her hair is a dark brown, almost black. It’s thick and straight for the most part.

Usual hair style: Her hair is very long; it goes to about the bow of her back. The style she wears it in will vary on the day. Sometimes she will leave it down. These are the days where she actually intends on brushing it out to look presentable. Other days, she’ll get fed up and throw it into a messy bun. The latter tends to be more common.

Eye color:  Her eyes are a colour close to mahogany albeit a tad bit less red.

Style of dress/typical outfit(s): In her teens, she chose a more rebellious appearance, complete with facial piercings, boots that were ridiculously too big for her size six feet, and an old leather jacket. Aside from that, she had a fondness for baggier tank tops, skirts and striped stockings.
Health (is this person usually sick? or very resilient?): Although she doesn’t seem to be sick often, Weisis seems to be fairly accident prone. She wouldn’t really be described as clumsy, but she does seem to have misfortune, cutting herself when chopping vegetables, tripping over her oversized shoes, etc.

Grooming (does she/he wear makeup? shower daily? wear only clean clothes? pluck her eyebrows?): She does wear a moderate amount of makeup. Usually just mascara, eyeliner upon occasion.  She plucks her eyebrows when needed, and showers/performs other hygiene necessities daily.  

Jewelry? Tattoos? Piercings?: Weisis has her ears pierced with few holes (She lets two of which grow over once she reaches her twenties.) She has a nose ring on the left side of her nose, as well as an eyebrow ring on the same side of her face. On the right side of her face, she has a Monroe piercing. (she has removed all of these by the time she reaches her twenties.) She also has a belly button ring that she’s particularly fond of. As for tattoos, she has intricate, flower like swirls that go from her wrists, to the tops of her hands. It was originally a Henna design she’d received at a festival, but she liked it so much, she had a tattoo artist fill in the pattern.




Level of education:  presently, she is a grade eleven student.  In the future, she has her MD and is working as an intern resident at the city’s hospital after she was honorably discharged from military service.

Level of self-esteem: This varies depending on the aspect of the character. Weisis is very confident in her intellect and at some points may come across as having a bit of a superiority complex because of it. Physically however, Weisis is far from confident. She’s very self-conscious about her body and was mocked in high school because of her figure… Or lack thereof. She’s now pretty much terrified to cut her hair off because she worries she’ll look masculine. It’s also created issues in her present relationship.  On a few occasions she’s gotten bitterly jealous of some of Salvatore’s female friends because she’s convinced herself that they’re better looking than herself and Sally might enjoy their company more.




Current marital/relationship status: Dating (presently) Engaged/married in the future to Salvatore Bellini

Sexual orientation:  Heterosexual, one of my few characters I don’t see having any attraction to the same sex.

Past relationships: a relationship with Thomas Ahmadi at band camp at the age of 15.

Primary reason for being broken up with: She denies that it was ever really a relationship, but it likely ended when they both returned home.

Primary reasons for breaking up with people: She broke up with Salvatore due to jealously, but the two patched things up and got back together.

Level of sexual experience: limited. Very limited.

Story of first kiss (if any—if not, how does he/she want it to happen?): Her first kiss was to Thomas Ahmadi at band camp. It was a surprise first  kiss, that she hadn’t really been expecting, so Thomas’ bottom lip somehow managed to catch in her braces. As result, the boy needed several stitches and Weisis was absolutely mortified.

Story of loss of virginity (if any—if not, how does he/she want it to happen, if at all?): She lost her virginity to her husband, Salvatore. It was a while after they’d been married because neither of them really had any sudden urge to do so prior. They only chose to when they decided they wanted a baby. It was awkward and painful, and Weisis might have cried after she thought Sally was asleep. The following week after the deed was done, both halves of the couple were awkward and generally avoided one another.

A social person? (popular, loner, some close friends, makes friends and then quickly drops them): Weisis is not shy, but she’s not exceptionally well with dealing with people either. She has a tendency to be bossy and want her own way or no way. She does have a few friends though, and is close to her family.



Profession: She dreams of becoming a surgeon, although she is unsure of which variety as of yet. She originally wanted to be an oncologist, but is now not entirely sure because other fields have also peaked her interest.

Past occupations: in her teens Weisis worked at a juice and smoothie bar called Booster Blend.  She was a field doctor in the military until she was honorably discharged after being shot whilst on a tour overseas.

Attitude towards current job: She loves her job, although, it is not quite where she wants to be. She would like to get a specialization in a certain field.



Phobias: Weisis has a severe phobia of heights. She gets very apprehensive when forced to fly or simply being near the edge of a balcony because of this. She also has an irrational fear of most poultry. She’s not even sure where it comes from, but animals such as chickens, turkey, geese, and pheasants just creep her out immensely.


Crimes committed (and was he/she caught? charged?): She was caught with a fake ID in a bar during her rebellious stage in her youth. She was mortified and convinced her life was ruined until remembering that her criminal record would be sealed once she turned 18.


What he/she most wants to change about his/her physical appearance:  If she could change something, she’d probably change her build. It’s what she’s most self-conscious about.



Night owl or early bird?: She’s normally an early bird and doesn’t have a tendency to stay up particularly late. She gets sleepy and usually passes out when she tries.

Light or heavy sleeper?: Weisis would be somewhere in between depending on how tired she is… Although, after having a baby and being on call once or twice a week, she’s leaning somewhere closer to the light sleeper side of the spectrum.

Favorite food: She loves berries, although cranberries are her absolute favourite. She also enjoys tea biscuits quite a bit.

Least favorite food: This list would be literally too long to write, the girl is very picky. She is lactose intolerant, hates crust on bread, and is suspicious of many herbs and spices.

Coffee or tea?: Tea… She isn’t very fond of coffee at all, but will drink it upon occasion.

Crunchy or smooth peanut butter?: She doesn’t like peanut butter…

Lefty or righty?: righty

Cusser?: She tries to avoid it because she feels unintelligent when she swears.

Smoker? Drinker? Drug user?: No, she’s about as straight edge as they come.

~Jack De Palma~

Name:  Jack Archibald De Palma

Nickname: ‘Jacky’

Reason for name: It’s pretty self-explanatory honestly, although, he only allows his family to call him this. He gets embarrassed if they address him as Jacky in public, or in front of his friends.  

Birthday: June 18th, 1997

Age: 16 (potentially older depending on the rp)

Gender: Male

Place of birth:  Boston, Massachusetts

Places lived since: He’s lived in Boston his entire life so far.

Parents’ names, backgrounds, occupations:

Jim Gaetano De Palma:  Jim works security for a storage facility. He’s worked there for over fifteen years, and complains about it often. He has yet to leave however. Jim is also a local little league baseball coach and avid Red Sox fan.

Rita Ornella De Palma: Rita is a beautician and hair stylist and works out of the De Palma family home.  Throughout the day, various customers come and go from the house, bringing plenty of gossip with them that Rita quickly eats up.

Number of siblings: 2

: Monica Francine Vasquez-De Palma Monica is Jack’s eldest sister. She is happily married with a baby on the way. Although she no longer lives at home, she still visits her parents on almost daily basis.
Tiffany Rachel De Palma:  Tiffany is Jack’s elder sister and the middle child in the family. She’s currently attending university, but still living at home simply because it is a more stable financial situation for her.
Relationship with family:

Jack’s family is relatively close, although he occasionally bickers with his sisters, primarily Tiffany.  Most of the time however, it is simply playful banter between Monica, Tiffany, and Jack. He’s a bit protective of his sisters, Tiffany more so, as Monica is already married. He has a habit of screening Tiff’s boyfriends and carrying around a bat casually upon their visits. It is a running joke between Jack and his father to see who can scare the piss out of the poor boy faster.  They keep a tally.

Jack has a close relationship with his father and they do a lot of things together. They attend Red Sox games when they can afford it, and watch from home when they can’t. Jack also helps Jim coach little league ball. Although they spend a good deal of time together, neither man is very good at expressing their feelings to one another and barely shows affection. Despite this, there are things Jack would very much like to speak to his father about, and sometimes he is able to work up the courage to try. His attempts usually end up in vain unfortunately. His dad shuts down and will change the subject, or make an excuse to leave the room. Jack sincerely hopes that one day they'll be able to work through this issue.
Jack’s relationship with his mother is fairly simple. She showers him with affection and pinches his cheeks, and he moans about it constantly. He finds said treatment embarrassing, but he does legitimately love his mother. She has a tendency to guilt trip Jack into doing things, and guilts Jack into helping with her clients and doing their hair, which he does begrudgingly. It’s because of this; Jack actually has no knowledge in hair care than he’d ever be willing to admit. Rita also often fusses and worries over her son due to his tendency to pick fights. She is so terrified that he’ll end up picking one with the wrong person and something horrible will happen. It eats Jack up when he comes home scuffed up and has to see his mom cry, so when he does get into a scuffle, he usually comes home very late, hoping that she will be asleep.  She usually is not however.

Childhood trauma: Jack was picked on for most of his school life. He’d regularly get jumped after school, so he learned to be quick on his feet and evade punches. He has seemed to have learned that the best solution to getting rid of bullies is to scare the piss out of them however. He’s done it on a number of occasions, even going so far as threatening his harassers with a baseball bat.  

Children of his/her own?: No, he’s currently too young to think about having children, but Jack does think he’ll want them when he gets older.

Height:  Jack is 5’2 and extremely sensitive about it. A quick and easy way to enrage him is to comment on his height or make some condescending gesture, such as a pat on the head.  

Weight: 120 lbs

Build: Jack has a slim, athletic  build from years of baseball.

Nationality: American, Bostonian of Italian decent.  

Complexion (freckles, acne, skin tone, birth marks): Jack actually has surprisingly clear and nice skin. He has a few scars from past scuffles, but nothing distinct or noticeable unless he points it out.

Face shape:  He has a fairly round, baby face.
Distinguishing facial features:  Jack has emotive eyebrows and bright blue-grey eyes.  He also has a tendency to pull funny little scowls with his mouth, which sort of adds distinction there as well.
Hair color: He has sandy brown hair that might even pass as blond in the summer time.
Usual hair style: Jack keeps his hair fairly short and prefers to keep it out of his face. It likes to stick up at the ends in various directions, but it doesn’t really seem to bother him all that much.

Eye color:  Blue-grey

Style of dress/typical outfit(s): Jack likes to wear simple muscle shirts with his Red Sox Jersey over top. He prefers to leave it unbuttoned. For pants, he's not particularly picky. He's fine with loose fitting jeans or cargos, or upon occasion, shorts.

Grooming (does she/he wear makeup? shower daily? wear only clean clothes? pluck his eyebrows?): Jack showers daily, combs his hair, wears deodorant, etc. He rarely needs to shave, if ever.

Jewelry? Tattoos? Piercings?:  Jack has no tattoos, but he does have both of his ears pierced. He also wears a chain with two pop can tabs on it. He refuses to tell people the story behind wearing them, but when he was small, Jack used to pretend that he was a soldier and those were his ‘dog tags’. He still wears them for nostalgic sentimental reasons.






Level of education:  He has an eleventh grade level of education.

Level of self-esteem: Jack is pretty comfortable with who he is. He usually doesn’t take things others say to heart, unless, as stated before, they comment on his height, and in that case he usually just gets angry.

Past relationships: Jack has limited experience in the relationship department. He did ‘date’ his friend, Gertie for a while, but they were thirteen…

Primary reason for being broken up with: They broke up because Jack realised he had literally no attraction to women after kissing her. Gertie was okay with that and they are still close to this day.

Primary reasons for breaking up with people:  He’s had no other breakups.

Level of sexual experience: limited, but Jack doesn’t consider himself innocent by any means.

Story of loss of virginity (if any—if not, how does he/she want it to happen, if at all?): Jack has yet to lose his virginity.

A social person? (popular, loner, some close friends, makes friends and then quickly drops them): Jack has few close friends, but he is friendly to those he comes to respect. He can come off as blunt and rude to those who don’t know him, but he simply likes to get to the point of things.





Profession: Jack’s only paying profession would be working at the local McDonalds. He often does drive thru.
Attitude towards current job:  It’s McDonalds, what do you think? Jack doesn’t like his job, but he gets money out of it, and money is good.







Phobias: Jack is actually a very superstitious guy. Because of this, black cats, broken mirrors and opening umbrellas inside will all freak him out a bit. He also has some weird personal superstitions, mostly relating to pregame routine. He has a specific one he must follow, or he gets pretty freaked out.



Crimes committed (and was he/she caught? charged?): Jack was arrested once after a particularly bad scuffle. His parents were pissed and he was grounded for a very long time.


What he/she most wants to change about his/her physical appearance:  His height. Hands down.





Night owl or early bird?: Jack’s a night owl and enjoys spending late nights at the batting cage or ball park. He finds it serene and calming.  

Light or heavy sleeper?: Jack is a pretty heavy sleeper. He would have to be pretty violently shaken to be woken up, and even then it would take a few minutes.  

Favorite food: Jack is a very big fan of ribs and chicken wings… Virtually anything you can slather in BBQ sauce and throw onto the barbecue, he’ll love.
Least favorite food:  He really hates oatmeal and yogurt of any kind.

Coffee or tea?: Neither. Both make him twitchy and he dislikes that.

Crunchy or smooth peanut butter?: Crunchy

Lefty or righty?: lefty

Cusser?: Yes. Especially if someone gets him angry.

Smoker? Drinker? Drug user?: Jack won’t smoke because it could affect his sports career, if he has one. He does like to drink however. His parents always let him drink casually at home.
